Rebekah worked asone of five commercial property managers for dozens of duplexes and complexes that were available for renting. She had been at this company for seven years now, and in that time had advanced her position considerably. Rebekah was happy, for the most part, but her job kept her very busy most days, and by the time she got home in the evenings, she was so mentally fatigued that socializing with friends was the last thing on her mind. Her evenings consisted of eating take out Thai food and watching sitcoms on television, with her cat Henry sleepily curled up beside her. She felt she was ready for a relationship, but she had no idea when or where she would find it.
Rebekahs work load was vast, as most commercial property managers responsibilities are, as she had well over a dozen locations to manage on her own. Her duties as one of the commercial property managers in the organization required that she know, understand and comply with all kinds of legislation relevant to her occupation, such as the Americans with Disabilities act and fair housing laws. It Rebekahs responsibility to keep current with the Federal Fair Housing Amendment Act, as well as make sure that no tenants were ever denied housing on the basis of discriminatory practices and that all Federal, State and local laws, regulations and building codes were complied with.
Rebekahs job as one of the five commercial property managers in the group encompassed much more than that, though, and it was these other responsibilities that led Rebekah, unknowingly, into the next phase of her life. Brennans chiseled features and natural good looks caught Rebekah off guard, and though she knew she was blushing, she continued on as professionally as she could with the questions at hand. They wrapped up their meeting in ten minutes or so. Driving home, Rebekah could not stop thinking of Brennan, and of how it was obvious that there was chemistry between them. At work the next day, Rebekah received a phone call from Brennan, asking if she would come by his office to sign off on some paperwork. Rebekah jumped at the chance to see him again.
That little dance between them signified the beginning of a life long journey together. Rebekah gave Brennans complex to another one of the commercial property managers in the office, so there would not be any connection between their jobs, but no matter, because they were soon spending every evening together, eating take out and watching movies, with Henry curled up in between them, and loving every minute of it.

It takes one tough cookie to be a rental property manager . If you think that used car salesmen and accident lawyers get a bad rap, you are in for quite a surprise. When it comes right down to it, the responsibilities of a rental property manager seem to run the gamut from just being really busy to downright uncomfortable. Suppose that you are the rental property manager for a complex of, say one hundred and fifty living spaces, or units. What is it that you would be doing all day long?

You would make note of these small repairs and add them to your list of things to have fixed.
Another responsibility that you would undoubtedly have working as a rental property manager would be the task of answering the questions, concerns and complaints that may come in from the residents of the complex. If the tenant in unit 142 has a broken garbage disposal, you delegate the repair to the maintenance crew, for example. If the air conditioner in unit 110 is not working, you call the heating and air conditioning repair specialist right away. When complaints about loitering, littering or the loud barking of dogs in unit 46 come trickling in from tenants, that call goes to you. After all, what can the secretary do about it, other than take a message for you?
On top of this huge pile of responsibility and obligation, you would also be quite busy showing vacant units to potential residents, collecting rent from current residents, explaining and enforcing lease agreements, addressing and dealing with tenant violations and other such issues. Not only that, but you would also be responsible for the nasty and highly unpleasant task of collections on past due rent as well as the kicker, which is literally kicking out a tenant for non payment of rent or some other lease agreement violation.
As said, it takes one tough cookie to be a rental property manager . Props to the people who can take pride and show responsibility, dedication and fairness in the face of the challenges that they often have to face. It takes patience, excellent people skills, the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, and above all respect for the people that live in the complex that you oversee. Those qualities are not found in everyone, but everyone can benefit from knowing someone who has them.

When occupying a property for rent the tenants may have to face some problems created by troublesome owners. Hence it is necessary that both follow the legal guidelines set for property occupation of that place. Fay decided to home school her children when she realized that the school system they were in was much inferior to her expectations. She did not want to leap into anything immediately, but did a lot of homework on home schooling and found that it was even better than she had hoped. She realized with relief that with her job as a local property manager , she would still have plenty of time to educate her children at home. A property manager of the type that she was could make her own hours, and this is what Fay planned on doing in her property manager position.
Her children, Lina and Axton, were excited that their mother would be able to keep her job as a property manager as well as home schooling them. They had mixed feelings about leaving public school. Lina, who was older than Axton, felt that though she had formed many good relationships at school that she would miss on a daily basis, she had really been missing quality one on one time with her teacher whenever she had a question about schoolwork. She knew the teacher could not help this, but she would be very glad to have her mother for a teacher now, and even with her job as a property manager , still get much needed personal time for help with her schoolwork.
Axton, on the other hand, was rather more skeptical about it. He was getting to an age when he had a lot of friends at school, and he did not really care so much about his schoolwork. So it was his friends he felt he would be torn away from, and Fay realized he would feel the loss hard.
Fay told her children that they would by no means lose their friends. Though they might not see them during the school time hours, she encouraged them to invite their friends over after school or on weekends. Also, as a huge bonus, Fay informed them that they would be joining a group of other home schooled children in the local area who met at least twice a week for fun activities and study groups. This would be another way to form friendships for Axton, and it was a way for Lina to have others to study with. They were both gaining greatly from this situation and Fay was very happy when it worked out great.
After having home schooled for a semester, Fay sat her children down to ask them where they stood and how they felt about it. They both had good reports to make. Lina was getting as much study time as she needed, both through the group they were a part of and through the more devoted teaching time with her mother. Axton had made plenty of new friends and even kept most of his old ones, seeing them nearly every weekend now. He found that you did not need to go to the same school in order to make a true friendship last.
Fay of course was happy because her children were happy. Had this not been her original goal? She had found the pros of home schooling, and had tried successfully to make the cons into pros. Seeing her children happy in their childhood friendships and yet still getting top quality education in a stress free environment was what mattered most to her.
