Dream A Little Dream

My husband has always thought that operating a storage facility would be a good investment. It’s almost become a dream of his to buy property and run a place of his own (actually, I’ve been informed that I’d be the one managing the facility) and he’s often asked me to ask my colleagues at work to get the inside scoop on what’s happening in the industry.

Mind you, neither of us knows much about how to do this. My husband has a great head for business and I’m good at the marketing and promotion aspects, but as far as this specific industry we’d be starting from square one. If we ever decide to pursue this endeavor we’d have to start the way any new business owner starts by gathering information and doing research to see if we could really pull it off.

Starting your own business is a risky project in any industry so it’s important to have a lot of knowledge and support. Since working with Tron and Phone Smart I’ve become aware of the vast resources available to those interested in the self-storage industry and the wonderful network of support available through the Internet, trade associations and publications and from others in the biz that may have started out the way we envision starting out. It’s comforting to know that if we ever take the plunge we know that we have all the resources we need to learn how to take it on.
