    People go to college for many years to become counselors. These people really want to be able to help those that are in need. They want to be able to help turn the hard, emotional life of a person around for the better. They stay deep in the books and they do a lot of research to be able to speak into the life of a person that is going through some dramatic and hard times. Counselors know that people will come to them with their concerns and they feel they must find a way to help them out. Many get involved in counseling where other people get involved in counseling for the money potential. It would seem though that people find other methods in order to get their problems off of their chest without paying a counselor.
    I spoke with someone who was in an unfortunate situation due to some recent hard times. She was very tight on money and needed to move from her current living situation immediately. She did not know how she was going to pay for everything. I told her I would try to get her the best possible deal.  I found her an inexpensive unit that included the first month for rent free of charge. She only had to come up with about twenty five dollars to get moved in to a large unit. That just made it that much easier for her to pay for a few other things that were greatly needed. She was so happy she was crying.
    Sometimes when a customer calls in they have a situation that they do not know how to solve. With that said, some property managers actually become counselors because they are there to listen, help and make suggestions for the customer. When the customer realizes that the property manager knows what they are talking about, they will be more than happy to take their advice and their suggestions. Usually you will find that the customer will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Property managers have helped so many people in the self storage industry not just with self storage, but also with their situation. It would seem as if most self storage property managers are self storage counselors.

    Just what exactly is a loading bay?  In terms of self storage, a loading bay is a dock in which you can more easily load and unload your belongings.  The bay looks similar to docks in the back of business.  Large semi trucks use the docks to pull the trucks up, and unload product.  In storage the idea is similar.  Many storage bays can fit smaller trucks than those of its larger counterparts.  Also, the loading bays are often very close to the facility entrances and/or elevator, making access even easier.  If a storage facility does not have loading bays, they often use hand carts or dollies instead.  While it is more convenient than carrying things yourself, it is still more of a hassle than using the bays.
    Unfortunately not every self storage facility will have a loading bay for you to load your belongings. Now some facilities will have ground floor units that will help you to put things directly into storage unit. So a drive up space is the best and most convenient way to load your belongings into your storage unit.     What do you do when you need a storage unit, but are not ready to rent yet?  You reserve it!  That would make sense to a lot of different people. Naturally man people do wait to the last minute in order to take care of things. Sometimes waiting until the last minute does not always get us what we are looking for and sometimes costs us money. No one likes to lose money but it is our own faults that cause this to happen. When it comes to self storage we have the option to reserve a space before hand and that will help us capture the deal we are looking to get.
    Today, there are a ton of storage facilities.  So, when you find one you like, it is important to hold the unit so it is available when you need it.  Most facilities will charge a small pre pay towards the rent to hold the space.  However, there are a few facilities that will reserve a unit for free!  Either way, it is very important, especially during the busy season.
    While units are not always sold out, tenants come and go on a regular basis, so there are always more people to fill the opening spots.  The next time you need storage, do your research and make sure what you need is set aside for you by making a reservation. There is nothing wrong with making sure you have something waiting for you and planning ahead. Reserving a unit now is better than the alternative, not having a unit.
